Beatrice Maud 'Betty' Small

Betty was born in Tredegar, Wales on September 13, 1924 and passed away peacefully of natural causes in Surrey BC on January 22, 2021.
Predeceased by her husband, Norman (Gerry) Small in 1985. Betty is survived by four children; Jeannie Storoshenko, Jim Small (Judy), Bonnie Stewart and Christopher Small, 7 grandchildren, Tammy Small, Rob (Jackie) Tereposky, Jeff (Tara) Small, Bill (Miyoung) Tereposky, Michelle Stewart, Diane and Sharon Storoshenko and 9 great grandchildren; Mya, Tiana, Ella, Lucy, Nico, Linden, Lila, Luca, and Natasha.
She was also predeceased by her parents John & Beatrice Moss, three sisters and two brothers in Wales, and is survived by her sister Patricia Downward (Robert) and many nieces and nephews in Wales and England.
Betty came to Canada as a war bride on March 1, 1946 and settled in Richmond, BC where she lived until 1989. She worked at BC Packers in Steveston and retired as timekeeper. She moved to Ladner and last resided in Langley, B.C.
She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and baking as well as watching all Blue Jays and Canucks games.
She will be remembered by those who knew her for her kindness, patience, sense of humour and quick wit, positivity, determination and unconditional love for her family.
Special thanks to Betty's dedicated caregivers and nursing staff who cared for our beloved mother and grandmother for the past two years at Morgan Place, where she enjoyed participating in all activities.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family burial will be held at Oceanview Cemetery where she will forever rest beside her beloved Gerry. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
