January 1926 - February 2024 ~

Betty was born in England and lived 97 of her 98 years in Canada. She was a lifelong learner, earning her BA from the University of Victoria at age 53. Until very recently, Betty played bridge and Scrabble, painted, took online Spanish lessons, and loved a good book.

Betty was a dedicated volunteer. She was active in her retirement complex - working in the library, posting notices, and serving on the strata council. Whilst at times frustrated by technology, Betty relied on her iPhone for taking photos and her computer for online banking and emails.

Betty was a firm believer in staying active. She walked whenever possible and would opt for the stairs instead of the elevator. Regular exercise helped her bounce back after two hip surgeries in her 90's.

Betty was a proponent of Medical Assistance in Dying, MAiD, and she chose to die with her children at her side.

Betty is survived by her children Loch (Liz) and Megan (Blake); her grandchildren Shona (Angus), Morgan (Tania), Fraser (Marianne), Kirstie (Marty), Lindsay, Brooke (Kevin), Braden (Ali) and her great grandchildren Hamish, Daniel, Caleb, Alice, Roddy, Esme, Emory and Leah.

Betty also leaves her sister, Norma, and many nieces and nephews.

Betty will be sorely missed, but forever remembered.
