On January 19, 2021 Brenda Cranston died in residence at Eden
Gardens in Nanaimo, BC. Brenda was born on May 8, 1922 in
Chilliwack, BC. She was the daughter of Rosedale pioneers Gerald and Edith Carter.
After high school she enrolled in the nursing program at Royal
Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. Her nursing career began in Montreal following graduation and included service in Public Health at Port Alberni. Her retirement followed many years of dedicated service at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver.
Brenda led a life of selfless generosity. Beyond her care of patients, she was dedicated to supporting family as well as many others in all the ways she could.
She kept close contact with all her family, including relatives in England. She was the keeper of family history.
She was predeceased by her husband Brooks Cranston, brother Gerald Carter and niece Terry Kring.
Brenda loved deeply in word and deed. She was loved deeply in return by family and friends.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private burial will take place at a later date at Chilliwack Cemetery. Her family expresses appreciation for the care she received at Eden Gardens.
