It is with profound sadness that we announce that Bruce passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 8th 2024.
Bruce was born on June 10th, 1946 in Russell Manitoba. In 1951 Bruce and his family moved to Sudbury Ontario and this is where his spent his formative years. In 1969 Bruce moved to Vancouver.
From 1970-1978 Bruce was a member of the Vancouver City Police Department. He also spent a year as a member of the City of Nelson Police Department. His special years were spent as a member of the VPD Dog Squad. After resigning from VPD Bruce spent many years as an investigator for the BC Government. In 1986 he became Director of Security for a private company. Bruce retired in 2005.
During his retirement years, Bruce enjoyed spending time at his daughter Laurie's dog boarding business in Clearwater. He helped with the many projects of keeping up a large property. A bonus was that there were many dogs around to enjoy. Bruce adored his granddaughters and spent many special hours with them.
Bruce and his wife Elaine spent many happy winter months in Mesa Arizona over the years. They also enjoyed living in White Rock and spent many hours walking the Promenade at White Rock Beach.
Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elaine, daughter Laurie (mother Gwen), his stepson Matthew (Therese), his granddaughters Paige and Payton, his siblings Clifford (Lorraine), Douglas (deceased), Dennis, Beverley and Wendy, his sisters-in-law Evelyn (Rick), Joanne (Andrew), Mary-Ann (Roger) and his many friends.
With love and treasured memories, we remember his life, his strength, his kindness and his wonderful hugs.
