John died at Peace Arch Hospital on Thursday July 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He is missed by his brother (Paul) and sister (Heather), and by his nieces and their husbands and partners (Meredith, Amanda and her husband Sam and Mallory and her partner Ben) and nephew (Jed). His grand nieces (Lucy and Ariya ) and grandnephews (Jeremy and Sawyer) will greatly miss his laughter and love. His sister & brother in law (Dianne and Hal) and friend Casper miss him and his many stories. His devoted dog, Sam, will miss him terribly. John's mother (Helen) and father (Jack) predeceased him. John grew up in Acton and Milton, Ontario and attended the University of Guelph before moving to White Rock, BC. John was a gifted finishing carpenter, an avid fly fisherman, a talented artist (sculptor), an avid reader and a dedicated gardener. He loved the Blues. John was a very spiritual man and he pursued knowledge relentlessly. In addition to his family , John enjoyed the love and devotion of many friends in his community. The family wishes to thank the members of that community for the care and love that they have shown John over the years particularly, during his time of poor health. We also want to thank the nursing staff of Peace Arch Hospital who cared for John
A celebration of John's life will be held in White Rock
later in the year.
