May 18, 1942 - January 4, 2021
With great sadness we announce the passing of Diana Robles on January 4, 2021. Diana was a first rate fine art painter and fibre artist. Largely self taught Diana amassed an impressive portfolio spanning 45 years.
She went within to find her inspiration and drew mainly on nature and her intuition. Her goal was to discover what was inside of her using art as a medium and to this extent she was extremely successful. Diana's time was shorted after being diagnosed with cancer leaving behind her husband Frazer Cole of Surrey, BC.
Diana was born on May 18, 1942 in Winnipeg MB to James and Blanche Belcher. She accomplished many things in her life including raising two sons Gregory (Ronaye) and Brett (Cathy) Borrie. Her legacy of following your heart can be seen in her sons who have pursued their passions as a high performance soccer coach and master silversmith respectively.
Diana spent 18 years training in classical piano with Edward Parker, renowned Vancouver BC pianist. She was a private secretary to John Hirsch's, noted Canadian theatre director in Winnipeg MB. Diana was a modelling instructor trained by Blanche MacDonald in Vancouver. She trained with Wayne Topping in Bellingham WA and was offered to become a therapist in Biokinesiology. Diana also was awarded scholarships to train under Gary Faigin, noted Seattle realist artist.
Of her many accomplishments Diana's greatest was living the Greek maxim "Know Thyself". This rule she followed daily. As her days drew to an end I, her husband Frazer Cole, witnessed the inner peace and strength she found from being true to herself. Diana was a very special woman and her legacy will be honoured by the many who crossed her path.
