COX, Eleanor (Nonie) Margaret
Nonie was born Eleanor Margaret Wylie, on September 9th, 1924 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Nonie passed away on Sunday, June 19th, 2016 in White Rock, BC with her children by her side. Nonie was raised in Winnipeg with her 5 siblings and moved to Vancouver in her early 20's. Nonie married Norman Cox and they raised 3 children in the Dunbar neighborhood of Vancouver. Nonie and Norm moved to the White Rock area in the early eighties. Norm passed away in 1983. Nonie continued to live close to two of her children and her grandchildren in the White Rock area until her passing. Nonie will be remembered for her quick wit, love of family and her love of her many dear friends. Nonie is survived by her children, Wayne (Jeri), Barbara and Vicky (Len) along with her eight grandchildren, Ryan (Danielle), Tyler (Julie), Chelsea, Gareth (Bernadette), Denby, Morgan, Rhys, Taylor and seven great grandchildren. Nonie is also survived by her sister Hazel Foster of Saskatoon and Ken Wylie of Ottawa along with beloved nieces and nephews across the country and Australia. There will be a Celebration of our Mother’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA in her name are much appreciated. We would like to thank Evergreen Heights and Morgan Place for their special care and love for Nonie in the last few years.
