Jackson (nee Oversby), Elsie
(October 30, 1927 - June 30, 2016)
Our Mother, Nana and Great Nana, has gone to be with her heavenly Father. She passed peacefully into his presence with family by her side. Predeceased by her loving husband, Bruce in 1984. She is survived by her four children Brian, of Bangkok, Thailand; Gary (Jeany), of Burlington, Ontario; Jeffrey (Christie), of South Surrey, BC; and Karen Deleeuw (Gord), also of South Surrey. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her grandchildren Kaiya (Colin), Kendra (Michael), Kailey (Joshua), Spencer, Kelsey, Mark, Connor and Tyler. She was also blessed to have two great grandchildren Ben and Chloe.
Elsie was born on a farm in Treherne, Manitoba on October 30, 1927. She was the forth of six children. She married Bruce Jackson of Winnipeg on November 7, 1953. Elsie and her family moved to the West Coast in 1966, finally settling in White Rock in 1973. Elsie devoted her life to her family and grandchildren. Her faith in God was her stronghold, relying on Him for every aspect of her life. She received great strength from reading her Bible. Elsie also enjoyed every type of handy craft ranging from sewing, knitting, quilting, painting, porcelain doll making, gardening, and even furniture building. She is going to be greatly missed by us all, however we are comforted in the knowledge that we will be reunited with her one day. We know she is singing, dancing, and is celebrating all the things she is now able to see so clearly. Our family will be forever grateful for her caregiver Bell who has shown her so much grace and love during these last three and a half years.
A memorial will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, July 9 at White Rock Community Church (15280 Pacific Ave, White Rock, B.C.)
