STANLEY, Emile Richard

May 10, 1927 - November 10, 2016

Emile passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 89. He will be lovingly remembered by all his family and friends. Predeceased just this January by his wife of 66 years, Anita, and son Mark. Emile is survived by his children Randolph, Stephen, and Karen; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Emile was born in Montreal, Quebec, and was a resident of South Surrey for the past 37 years. His last two years were at Rosemary Heights Retirement Home where they took wonderful care of him.

A successful businessman in Quebec, he prolonged his insurance career as the Manager of Claims at B.C. Transit.

Happy, outgoing and generous, he would regale us with his stories about the country house in Mansonville, Que., where the family spent their childhood. He loved fishing, going for neighbourhood walks (where he knew every dog by name), or just for a long drive with Anita. With a wry smile and a twinkle in his eye, he enjoyed everything about life.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 3:30 pm on December 1, 2016 at Holy Cross Church, 12268 Beecher St, South Surrey. Reception to follow.

With thanks to Kearney Funeral Services for their exemplary help during both of our times of need. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Terry Fox Cancer fund, the SPCA, or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
