Passed away at Peace Arch Hospital ICU surrounded by family. Born in Germany, came to Canada in 1951, grew up in Greendale, and attended Sardis Senior Secondary, Chilliwack Senior Secondary, and VVI. Ernie was an elevator mechanic and proud member of IUEC Local 82, serving on the Executive in various positions including Education Coordinator.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially many canoe trips and holidays to the family cabin at Rail Lake.
Lovingly remembered by wife Ann, children Laura and Erich (Brandy), grandchildren Kaden, Cooper, and Connor, and siblings Ingrid (Reinhard), Doris (Otto), and Bernie (Doris).
Celebration of life will be held at St. Marks Anglican Church (12953 20th Ave, Surrey) July 20th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peach Arch Hospital Foundation.
