We are saddened to announce that our beloved Wife, Step Mom, Daughter, Grandmother, Sister, Auntie and Friend, Freida Paterson (nee Loutit) passed away after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Born in Hay River, NWT, Freida grew up in a large family and even after living in B.C. with husband Mark for 25 years, Hay River was always "home".
At a young age Freida owned her own restaurant in Hay River that she ran successfully for 14 years. After moving to BC she developed many friendships and will always be known for her efforts to "create memories" with her family and friends.
She will be fondly remembered by a large population of South Surrey as the proud owner of Pasta Vino Trattoria and Bar that she ran for 5 years until COVID forced her to close down.
Throughout her adult life, Freida loved to travel and visited many destinations around the world. On one occasion, she flew to Scotland for the weekend with close friends. More recently, she hiked in Bhutan with her arm in a sling due to the cancer in her bones. Her generosity was appreciated by so many and she will continue to be loved and missed by all those who knew her.
