WALLACE, George Stanley 1924 - 2012
Passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on September 11, 2012 at the age of 88. Survived by his son Gary (Donna), Surrey, BC; daughter-in-law Betty, Timmins, ON. He will be greatly missed by grandchildren Chris, Stacey, & Taryn (Ontario); Erin & Danica (BC). Great grandchildren Cameron, Paige, Aidan, Callum, & Mia; step great grandchildren Anthony & Danielle; step great-great grandchild Hendrix. Predeceased by his brother Mervin, sister Eleanor, son Stan, step great grandson A. J., and long-time partner Simone Buchanan. Stan served in the navy from 1941 to 1945, and was with the air force from 1948 to 1974, receiving several medals and decorations. Stan retired from the Department of Fisheries. He was an avid golfer and curler, making numerous friends and acquaintances along the way. A memorial service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 240 (2643 - 128 St., Surrey) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6th.
