Gina was born in Williamstown Wales. When she was fourteen, she immigrated to Canada with her mother and brother and settled in the Peace River area of Alberta. After various stops along the way, including Terrace and Oliver, she met her second husband, came to the Lower Mainland and they eventually put down roots in South Surrey in 1995.
Gina was a long-time home support worker in White Rock and made many enduring friendships with the families of her clients. Everyone who met her was touched by her caring and compassionate manner.
After a brief illness, Gina passed away in her sleep at Melville Hospice Home. She's gone to join her mother, Eleanor Evans and her daughter, Carol Dunne who pre-deceased her.
Gina is survived by her husband of 42 years, Larry, her daughters Linda Stewart, Gail (Rudy) Marek, Deanna Stewart, Tammy Stewart, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also left behind are her brothers Michael (Kay) and Paul (Heather) Evans and her sister Diane (Lloyd) Goltz, as well as nieces and nephews
A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Parkinson Society of BC or Diabetes Canada.
