MCNEIL Gilbert. Jan. 11, 1921 - Aug. 19, 2013. Gilbert was born in Cardiff, AB. He lost a valiant fight with cancer at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his wife Alma and siblings Kathleen, Henry, Richard, Bill and Mary. He leaves behind 7 nieces and nephews. During the 2nd world war he served in the Royal Canadian Navy escorting convoys across the North Sea supplying the war effort in Europe. In the early 1970’s he moved to White Rock with his wife Alma, where he enjoyed a well-earned retirement. Gilbert was a source of ongoing entertainment as well as occasional frustration to his family. Sharp to the end he even left this world with one practical joke yet to be played out.
