SMITH, Gladys. (nee McHardy). Died on July 16th at the age of 90 in Peace Arch Hospital following a brief illness. Gladys was born and raised in Trail prior to attending Normal School in Vancouver for her teacher training. There she met and later married Robert Smith who pre-deceased her in 2004. After the war they returned to Trail where they raised their five children. Upon retirement they moved to the White Rock area and enjoyed their years travelling and meeting new friends. Gladys is survived by her five children Rob (Pat), Judy (Pat), Craig (Vivian), Kevin (Debbie) and Mavis (Sahndra), her 9 grandchildren and 12 greatgrand-children. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. O’Leary and the nursing/support staff at Peace Arch Hospital.
