Harold passed away peacefully of a heart attack in his apartment in Kitsilano, Vancouver on February 25, 2024. His funeral was held Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Schara Tzedeck Chapel Cemetery, Surrey, B.C.

Harold, born 1946, spent his early school years in White Rock, British Columbia. He was the Vice President of the student council of Semiahmoo High School, then a top student in his fourth year at Simon Fraser University. Artist, philosopher, poet, he spent many years traveling and painting, then moved to Vancouver. Very religious, quoting the Old Testament in many conversations, well loved by his friends and family.

Harold was predeceased by his mother Bessie Cohen and father Aaron Solomon Cohen, elder brothers David Cohen and Barrie Cohen, elder sister Natalie Stein.

Harold is survived by four sisters Stephanie, Rachel, Merrilee, Sandra, nine nephews and nieces, six great nieces and nephews, hundreds of friends who enjoy his paintings and poetry.

He dedicated his life to being spiritual and loving. Living outside of the materialistic world Harold found pleasure in making art, writing, and being a good person. He inspired many in life and spent his life creating beauty and fascination amongst all around him.

He once said, "A good artist is not a genius, but a normal person inspired by life."
