May 1, 1933 - August 20, 2020
Helen was a beautiful, kind, loving, caring, and sharing person who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was born May 1, 1933 on the family homestead north of Star City, Saskatchewan. At the age of seventeen Helen married the love of her life Stan Sampson, and they remained an inseparable couple until Stan's passing over sixty years later.
They did everything together, whether the constant renovating of the family home in Melfort, building their cabin at McPhee Lake, gardening, fishing, or entertaining.
In 1987 they moved to their new home in Surrey, BC. Family remained the most important part of her life.
The love given caring for her son Chad made her a lifelong parent. Helen watched with great pride as her family grew up around her. She never missed the opportunity to attend a grandchild's ball game or a chance to put on a real Ukrainian dinner.
No one ever experienced the opportunity to leave her home without eating. She was the family matriarch.
Helen was predeceased by her parents Jennie and Nick Tkachuk, her husband Stan and her sister Anne and brother George.
To share in her memory are her three sons and families: Edward and Sheila (Levi and Stacey, Dan and Claire, Casey and Elena), Dennis and Melane (Mark, Trisha and Joel, Michael, David) and Chad. Her sister Evelyn and Lorne, brother Harry and Dorothy. As well Bob and Glenna (Katie and Terry), Jan, and her six great grandchildren.
A family celebration of life for Helen will be held at a later date.
