Forman, Herbert Chester (Check)

It is with sadness, that we announce the passing of Chester Forman on Sunday, January 16, 2011 in Peace Arch Hospital White Rock, BC at the age of 98. Chester was born December 4, 1912 in Rivers, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his wife Helen, son Brian Lindsay and his younger brothers Harvey, Lorne and Lee. He is lovingly remembered by his son Ross, daughter-in-law Debra, grandsons Jeffrey and Bradley and many nieces and nephews. Check was raised in Rivers, Manitoba and owned a hardware store with his brother Harvey. He was active in the Community and was very athletic playing baseball, curling and golf. He won many golf tournaments in Clear Lake and Rivers. In 1975 he and Helen retired to the West Coast and settled in White Rock in 1991 to be close to Ross, Debra and their grandchildren. Chester was an active bridge player and played 3 to 4 times a week right to the end of his life. Chester will always be remembered for his dapper style, his quick wit and cheerful disposition and his genuine interest and appreciation of others. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre 14831 28th Avenue South Surrey, B.C. 604 536-6522.
