It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Gramma, and Great Gramma.
Renie (Irene) passed away at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock , B.C. on Monday November 21st at the age of 93.
Mom was all about her family and was a great role model and inspiration. She is lovingly remembered by her son John (Lucille), daughters Donna, Cindy and Debbie (Tony); sister Kaye (Bud); grandchildren Ron (Jacque), Karen, Torin (Debbie), Erin, Maddison, Harley, Jenavieve and Emma; great Grandchildren, Jacob, Ashley, Amanda, Nathan and Addison.
Renie was predeceased by husband Bill, sister Trudy & son Kerry. She was born in Ottawa, Ontario August 5th, 1923. Family moved to B.C. where school years were completed in Vancouver. Mom grew up playing the piano and it was always a fun part of her life. She was still playing in her final years.
Renie and Bill were married in 1948 in Smithers, B.C. Mom stayed home and raised the family and Dad's career settled them in White Rock, B.C. They were able to spend 12 years wintering in Arizona where they enjoyed their golf and many friends and good times. Renie enjoyed every single one of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She provided great joy to them all despite the challenge of losing her sight. Her spirit always remained steadfast and strong to all who knew her.
At Renie's request, no formal service is planned. Her family will have a private gathering in her honour at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the CNIB or Canuck Place would be appreciated.
