James Charles Ashdown, son of Cyril and Midge, brother to Bruce, husband to Gwendolyn, father to Brian and Karen (Martin Lavoie) and grandfather to Julien and Gabrielle passed away peacefully and with great dignity on September 26, 2023.
A proud Veteran, Jim survived combat in Vietnam to return home and start a loving family. Married for 55 years, Jim and Gwen were able to travel extensively and share a common love of golf and family.
Jim spent 30 years with the BC Ambulance Service and spent many of his retirement years as a course marshal at NorthView and Nicowynd golf courses. Always one to enjoy a social cocktail he will be missed by his Ocean Park community and family alike.
The family would also like to thank the hardworking, caring staff at the Melville Hospice in White Rock.
