October 7, 1935 - March 10, 2021
Born in Liverpool England Oct 7, 1935. Passed away peacefully March 10, 2021 in the presence of his six daughters and son predeceased by his wife, Doreen.
After serving in the English Navy and marrying Doe, John began his career in the Fire Department and immigrated to Canada, settling in White Rock in 1967. They were active members of Star of the Sea Parish and contributing members to the community.
Our Dad taught us by example, uncompromised loyalty, non-negotiable morals, and a strong work ethic. Many times he worked two jobs to support his family and later the grad dresses, tuxes and weddings, yet would still give a stranger his last dollar.
Our home was small and when it appeared ready to burst at the prospect of a new arrival, dad would just build another room. We had one bathroom of which our dad would always joke "I get to use it once a week on Tuesday whether I need too or not".
John was humble yet proud, intelligent yet a man of simple needs. He loved our mum with a deep abiding devotion. Their love created a faith that will sustain our family for generations to come.
Rest in peace Dad, you were well and truly loved.

"He's a man of great dignity, honour and
strength. His merits are noble and of admirable
length. He's far greater than all other men that I
know. He's my dad, he's my mentor, and he's my
friend and hero" D.H.Young
