Katherine Campbell Macdonald passed away on November 12/16 at the Crossroads Hospice, Port Moody, BC after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her nephew, Don and niece Sara were at her side. Born in Charlottetown, PEI on April 24, 1939, Katherine obtained her RN from the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, and later a diploma in Public Health Management from the University of Manitoba. She worked in several locations in northern and western Canada before moving to Vancouver and White Rock where she held several nursing and senior administrative positions at the Vancouver General and GH Strong Rehab Centre.

Katherine was an accomplished artist and began painting full time in 1989. She had a studio on Marine Drive in White Rock and was active in the local art scene including roles as co-organizer of the White Rock Studio Tour and Drawing for Life Art Groups. She will be missed in the local art community.

Katherine was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Ina Macdonald, of Charlottetown, PEI, and sister Jean Isabel. She is survived by her sister Johanna Williamson, now of Castlegar, BC and many nieces and nephews. The family extends grateful thanks to Sara and Donald Crockett for their faithful presence during her illness and to Fraser Health Homecare, and the hospice staff at Crossroads in Port Moody.
