MEZEI, Kaye Eunice (nee Allen)


Kaye Mezei, 81, passed away in Langley,B.C. on January 15, 2017, with her daughter by her side. Kaye was born in Cheshire U.K. on January 8, 1936. In August 1959 she emigrated to Toronto, Ontario and spent many wonderful years in Burlington, Ontario. In 1993 she moved to White Rock, to be closer to her family. Upon arriving in B.C. for the first time she said she knew she was home. Kaye is predeceased by her beloved son Robert Steven Mezei. She is survived by her “dolling dotter” Hayley Katrina Mezei, and Hayley’s partner Nick Gamble. Kaye also leaves behind her adored grandson Elliot (Otter) Gamble-Mezei, and her honorary granddaughter, Nicole Hague. Kaye was a very active and social person and will be missed by many. Please join us in a celebration of her life to be held on January 29th from 1-2 pm at the Crescent Beach Royal Canadian Legion #240, 2643 128 Street, Surrey. BC. In keeping with Kaye’s deep-rooted love of Trad Jazz, the celebration will segue into an afternoon of dancing from 2-5 pm featuring the Crescent City Jazzers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice or to the Vancouver Dixieland Jazz Society (Youth Music Program), which was one of Kaye’s great passions.
