DIERKER, KURT

June 23, 1923 - Feb 11, 2010

After 86 faithful years, the good Lord took our husband and father on a nonstop flight to Heaven on February 11, 2010. Left to remember this wonderful man are wife of 58 years, Annemarie, son Glen, daughter-in-law Janice, and the sparkle of Opa's eyes for the last nine years, grandson Colin.

Born and raised in Germany, Kurt and Annemarie immigrated to Canada, the country he loved, in 1954. They originally settled in Nakusp, B.C. before moving to Vancouver 3 years later. An accountant by trade, Kurt worked in plywood plants during his working life. The family spent almost 30 years in North Delta before finally moving to White Rock in 1994.

Kurt was a very humble, caring man who loved God, his family and his fellow human being. He enjoyed reading, walking, and travelling with Annemarie to such wonderful countries as Fiji, Australia, and China. Kurt took special pride in helping others and giving those he met a special smile.

The family wishes to thank the special people who looked after his needs during his last years. A Celebration of Kurt's life will take place at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2350 - 148th St., Surrey on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Peter Hanson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
