Margaret Isabel Smith (nee Gilholme)

December 13, 1927 - August 16, 2022
Predeceased by husband Jesse, daughter Sharon, son Douglas and siblings Elsie, Mary, William, Jean and Richard She is survived by brother Bob (Mary), sons Ron and Murray (Mindy), grandchildren Jonathon, Valerie, Jennifer, Oliver nd Teresa, great grandchilden Jocelyn and Jacob. Margaret was born at Dudley, England Dec. 13, 1927 and passed away August 16, 2022 at the Dr. Hogg Pavilion.
Her family immigrated to Canada in 1929 and homesteaded south of Vermilion, Alberta, where she travelled by horse to a one room school. She completed her high school in Edmonton. and worked at the Dominion Bank for two years before taking a similar position at the Bank of Montreal in Cloverdale. Margaret developed special life long friendships from farm and school years.
She married Jesse in 1952 and in 1957 built their long time family home on 20th. Ave. near Redwood Park. Her dedication to family was extraordinary. Margaret will be greatly missed by family and friends.
There will be a Graveside Service Oct. 3, 2022 10 a.m. at Sunnyside Lawn Cemetery, 14850 - 28 Ave. Surrey.
