Peggy passed away on June 8 at Peace Arch Hospice at the age of 91. Born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, she relocated to Vancouver in 1946 where she completed training at the Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating at the top of her class. Peggy spent more than 25 years as the public health nurse for Sears in Burnaby before retiring to Mayne Island. In 2001 she moved to White Rock where she volunteered at the Superfluity Shop in support of Peace Arch Hospital. She loved her many cruises with family, and enjoyed her single malt scotch at happy hour.
Predeceased in 2011 by her husband of 61 years, Howard, she is survived by her daughter, Carol (Murray), son, Bryan (Gwen), grandchildren Lindsey (Stu) and Kelly (Amanda), great-grandchildren Taylor, Morgan, and Cody, and her special friend, Anthony (Tony) Mabey.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents at White Rock Seniors' Village and Bayshore Home Care for enriching her life during the past two years. They would also like to express their gratitude to the staff at Peace Arch Hospital for the care and compassion they extended to her during the last few weeks. There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.
