ALLEN, Marian Evelyn
February 6, 1915 - August 5, 2016
Amid loving memories, we sadly announce the passing of Marian Evelyn Allen (nee Wylie) who, at the age of 101, died peacefully at her home of the last 9 years, Whitecliff Retirement Home in South Surrey. Her husband Richard (Dick) predeceased her in 1989. She is survived by her loving children, twins Michael and Maureen and younger son John. She dearly loved her daughters-in-law Danielle (Michael) and John's wife Marit who sadly passed away 3 days before her mother-in-law. She also loved her grandchildren Paul, Natalie, Erik (Heidi) and Carl (Carmen) and Carl's 3 children, Isaac, William and Anja Marian. She will also be sorely missed by her one remaining sibling Doug Wylie and his children Lynne (Mike), Gail, Sharon, and Greg (Juli). She also leaves behind a large number of other nieces and nephews including Anne (Don), Carol (Allan), Don (Kathy), Eleanor (Tom), and Shannon (Robbie), and the Weatherill "guys" - Bob (Lil), Brian (Lilo), Gary, Gordon (Shelagh), and Dave (Joanne) who consistently remained an important part of her family life.
Marian lived in Vernon BC, Ottawa ON and White Rock BC. Her final home was at Whitecliff, where loving and dedicated staff members created a warm and comfortable home for her. For this, the family will always regard them with affection and immense gratitude.
Mum loved the ballet and in lieu of flowers a donation to the Marian Allen Memorial Scholarship of the Vancouver Ballet Society or a donation to a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2:00 pm at St Mark's Anglican Church 12953 20th Avenue, Surrey BC with a reception to follow.
