Our hearts are saddened with the passing of our loving mother, Mary Audrey Higgins (Kupecki) on February 13, 2020. Mary was born in 1922 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Nicholas and Tekla Kupecki. She is predeceased by her 4 siblings, Kay, Lily, Anne, and Mike. Mom is survived by her daughter, Gayle Reeves (Higgins) and her son Wayne (Carol) Higgins; 4 grandchildren, Lisa, Leanna, Darcy, and Debby; 6 great grandchildren, Amanda, Zachary, Shelby, Darrian, Ayla, and Priscilla; 4 great-great grandchildren, Lincoln, Aubree, Charlotte, and Ryker; 2 nephews, Wally (Gloria) Shoemay and Don Pospiech; 1 niece, Charlotte (Gary) Johnson; and many great nieces and nephews.
On their honeymoon in November of 1944, Mary and Art travelled by train to New Westminster, BC and proclaimed that this would be their new home. They relocated to White Rock in 1945. Mary worked as head cashier for the Super Valu store on Johnston Road from 1950-1957. Mary and Art owned the Coney Island Fish and Chips restaurant on Marine Drive from 1957 - 1970. Mary then spent the rest of her career in fashion retail before retiring in White Rock.
