Mary June, formerly of White Rock, passed away on March 16th, 2004 in Vancouver. Born January 18th, 1932 in London, Ontario, June and her husband Bob raised three children in Ocean Park.
Predeceased by Bob less than a a year ago, June’s courage and determination to face several health related challenges over the past year was a marvel to those who knew and loved her.
June and Bob were married for 50 years and those of us close to them knew they could not be apart for long. With her warm heart and unconditional understanding and accceptance of all people, June Miller was a great listener and true friend for many. Through her life time, many admired June’s commitment to family. Some would say she was the Miller glue.
June was predeceased by husband Bob, her parents John and Margaret Sparks, and a sister, Lillian.
A willing and active member of the Crescent Beach Yacht Club and Royal Canadian Legion, June’s most treasured role in life was as a mother and friend to her daughters Jackie (Jim), Jennifer (Bob) and son, Mike.
June is also survived by several grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life.Grammy June will be will be sadly missed by Ron, Nikki, Ashley, Gabrielle, Naomi, Chris, Stephie, Jasmine, Samantha, John and several great grandchildren. June also leaves to mourn her brother Gord of London, Ontario.
As June’s greatest joy in life were family and friends, a celebration of June’s life wil be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27th, 2004 at Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240 in Crescent Beach.
