Dec 27, 1935 - May 22, 2018
Molly "Bunty" (nee Campbell) was born on December 27th, 1935, in Dundee, Scotland and passed away in Campbell River, BC on May 22nd, 2018 surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Bunty's early years were spent in Dundee, Scotland where she met, courted and married the love of her life, Dave "Scotty" Gibson (predeceased April 16th, 2015). It was shortly thereafter that they began to welcome the first of their four children to the world. After a brief residency in South Africa, they returned to Dundee before making the final decision to immigrate to Canada in 1968. Over the next 38 years, Dave and Bunty built a busy and immersive life in the community of White Rock, City by the Sea!

Bunty was well known in the community for vibrant personality and indelible sense of humour. Her impulsive nature provided the fuel for many different interests and curiosities about people, cultures, family, creativity and travel. Throughout the years, she (and Dave) used their entrepreneurial skills to provide opportunities for themselves, their children and friends. With a handful of different vocations behind her, Bunty was perhaps best known as the owner/operator for many years of The Parkland Coffee Shop in Ocean Park. There was many a customer who would come by to hear Bunty-and sometimes Dave - banter and joke with anyone who cared to take her on and share a laugh between breakfast and lunch. When she wasn't busy attending to cooking duties, she would love to blether with all the regulars about all the comings and goings of their daily lives.

If not at the family business, there was nothing Bunty enjoyed more than going to garage sales, thrift shops and flea markets to find that unbelievable "good deal". It was her pure joy to come home with a treasure in hand that she found after long day of bargain hunting in whichever community she was living. After the working and dealing was done, it was Bunty's fierce sense of adventure that drove many an impulse to journey to places near and far, searching for experiences that would give her and the family memories that would last a life-time.

It was Bunty's unique gift to bring joy and laughter to all those she engaged with throughout her life. She will be remembered for cheeky wit, robust laugh, curly white hair, love of family and remarkable generosity of spirit.

Molly was predeceased by her husband of 60 years (Dave), mother (Mary), father (James) and brother (Colin). Her children survive her: David (Barb), Debra (Tim) Dean (George), Dale (Brett), grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephew, niece and sister-in-law (Elaine).

The family would like to thank all those that contributed to care of Molly during her illness including: Dr. P Rowe, Dr. R Potter-Cogan, the many care-givers/staff at New Horizons Care Facility and the kind nurses of Campbell River Hospital. As an expression of sympathy the family encourages you to please consider getting early cancer screening.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held on the Mainland on Saturday, JUNE 2nd at the OCEAN PARK COMMUNITY HALL (1577 128TH ST, SURREY, BC V4A 3V1) at 3 pm.
