April 9, 1924 - December 5, 2021
With heavy hearts we bid a final farewell to our lovely mom Myrt Fashoway, who passed peacefully on December 5 at the age of 97.
Myrt was born April 9, 1924 and raised in Cranbrook BC. She became a teacher, working throughout BC, and eventually settled in White Rock, married with 2 kids. After husband Joseph passed away in 1963, she returned to family in Cranbrook to restart her career, and then back to White Rock in 1968 where she stayed as a teacher and spent her retirement years.
Myrt was an extraordinary woman of many talents. She was a fine teacher, counselor and coach, a world traveller, a Canadian championship curler, a talented golfer, an avid gardener, a smart bridge player, a fabulous cook, and a loyal friend to many. But most importantly she was a loving, caring, nurturing mother, grandmother and aunt who brought fun to the table and was always ready for a celebration.
She is survived by her children Jason, and Jan (Tori), and granddaughters Delaney (Lanny), and Tierney (Calvin), and many nieces and nephews and their families, who will keep her in their memories and forever in their hearts.
