January 23, 2020
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our dear mother Patricia Elaine MacDonald (Pat). She passed away peacefully on January 23rd, 2020. Pre-deceased by her husband Donald (Don) MacDonald she leaves behind her four children, Heather, Peter, Claire and George MacDonald, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always wanted a big family, and this she knew she had achieved as part of her legacy.
Pat and Don MacDonald were a big part of the growth and development of the White Rock community. Together they settled in White Rock to build and operate the original White Rock Veterinary Hospital started at Five Corners, and later expanded to Johnson Road at Sunnyside. Running a business, raising four children, and later becoming a part of her husbands' political life as Mayor of White Rock and GVRD representative was a feat to be admired. Always ready to beam a gorgeous smile, she housed untold amounts of energy and perseverance.
The family later moved to Crescent Beach which Pat recounts recently as the very best times in their lives. The kids were older now, so boating, family life, and entertaining friends was added to the busy business repertoire and brought her and the family so much joy.
Pat was extremely committed to her husband Don, and his multiple ventures, her children, family and friends. Noted by one dear friend and political partner Vin Coyne, Pat attended every single White Rock Council Meeting during Don's tenure as Mayor.

"We think she was an outstanding woman, and to us the best mom in the whole wide world! Mom may the fair winds, warm sunshine, and calm waters forever carry your beautiful spirit, and in your words we will "love you forever".
