Assiniboia, Saskatchewan to July 13, 2019 White Rock, B.C. Mom passed away at the age of 88 at the Irene Thomas Hospice after being diagnosed with inoperable and untreatable cancer on December 17, 2018. She has one son, Jack and his wife Terri and one daughter Leslie and her partner Jack. She leaves behind her granddaughter Kathryn and her partner Allen (with three daughters Taylor, Hailey and Paige from his previous marriage) and her great granddaughter Taylor as well as two step-grandchildren: Holly and her husband Jeremy and their son Rowan, and Holly's twin brother Scott. Part of her extended family is Margot Marion (Kathryn's mother and Jack's ex-wife) and Mike who is Taylor's father. She was predeceased by her husband George on July 26, 2018.
Mom was forever saying "I'm gonna......." She was gonna write her obituary as she said when anyone else writes it, the person no longer with us becomes a saint! She was no saint (and some would say her devilish side sometimes showed!) but always positive and caring - and always there when you needed her. She kept her sense of humour until the end.
She lived in 6 provinces from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island and saw a lot of the world. She was never blasé about what she had seen and done and learned from every adventure.
She would have thanked several people if she were still here and we will do so for her and the rest of the family: the residents and staff of Evergreen Baptist and of note Chris Russell, Dr. Tiwana at White Rock Medical Associates, the Peace Arch Hospital, the palliative care nurses and of course the staff and volunteers at the Irene Thomas Hospice who took such good care of her in her last few days.
