Richard Bradley Saunders passed away April 2, 2018 peacefully at home, surrounded by love. Rick fought a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, and the ups and downs of a double lung transplant done April 17, 2013.

Rick had a love for the beach, nature, history, fishing, horse and car racing and life! Rick is survived by his wife Sheila, daughter Liz Paynter (Keith), son Bradley, sister Marilyn, and brothers Randy (Sue), Dan (Nonie) and Tom (Pam), brother-in-law Dave Drummond (Val), grandchildren Ava and Nate Paynter, many nieces and nephews and so many special people in his life.

Rick and Sheila met at White Rock Jr. High, and married at the White Rock First United Church September 19, 1969. Liz was born in 1976 and Brad in 1978. Rick started White Rock Mufflers at the old Shell Station on the corner of Oxford St and Marine Drive in 1975 with his brother Dan. It became "the place to go" for many classic cars and local people.

The memories are so huge, where do you begin? His circle of family and friends who gave him "a window to the world" when he was unwell, meant so much. We have a special thank you forever in our hearts for Marie, "An Angel", Dr. Alan Pretty, Dr. N. Khalil (Lung Centre VGH) and the nurses and doctors of both the 12th floor "Chest Centre" and the Outpatient Lung Transplant team at VGH.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Semiahmoo Fish and Game Club (1284 184th St) on Saturday April 28th at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the transplant Research Foundation of BC at www.trfbc.org.

Lastly, please do not forget to sigh up to be an organ donor. The last five years, were a gift!
