Richard was born in England and after travels to Bermuda and the USA was raised in White Rock and graduated from Semiahmoo Senior Secondary. He was a member of the Players club, played drums and enjoyed driving especially big rigs.
He worked with horses in Barkerville where the family spent their summers. He had a good sense of humour.
Predeceased by his parents Norman and Dorothy Long, he leaves his children Jeremy Long and Sarah Long, sisters Stephanie Legault and Nicola Sampson (Paul) and many nieces and nephews, and best friend of 20 years Sandy Burnstad.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on 2024-03-23 at Elks Hall, 1469 1469 George Street, White Rock, BC
