It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our father and Papa, Robert ("Bob") Coles, on November 25, 2023 at the age of 83.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Muriel, and brothers, Alec and Douglas.
He leaves behind his son Robert (Kim), daughter Ann (Lawrence), grandchildren Lindsay (Steve), Leah (Luca), Lauren, Drew, Courtenay (Mike), Brett, and nine great grandchildren.
Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Bob met the love of his life, Muriel, as a young man. Leaving behind all he knew and loved, Bob immigrated to Canada in 1965 for a new life and future for his family, though Scotland will forever be in his heart.
Working hard in every aspect of his life, including a lengthy career of 30 years with Imperial Oil, allowed Bob to fulfill his dreams for his family. Colleagues, friends, and family were in awe of his work ethic and unending willingness to assist others.
The success and joy Bob's family experiences is in large measure due to his adventurous spirit and determination. We all reach greater heights by standing on the shoulders of a giant.
Papa loved the beach, swimming, and his art classes. A cup of tea, a sweet treat, and good conversation made his day the brightest. He was devoted to his family and friends. A generous man in every way with a heart of gold and a witty disposition. His charismatic, vibrant energy drew others in. He will be missed dearly every day.
A celebration of life will be held in his honour in the Spring of 2024.
