Left us quietly March 31, 2005.
Bob was born August 6, 1919 in Souris, Manitoba and grew from young boy to young man in his favourite place, Kenora on the beautiful Lake of the Woods.
In 1939 Bob enlisted in the RCAF and with young wife, Rita (O'Brien), moved to the airforce base at Rivers, Manitoba where they remained for the duration of the war.
Bob and Rita ventured West with their young family, Lynn Robert (Angela), Sharon (Anthony) and Richard (Jane).
Bob working with theCPR as an operator and later an agent in Revelstoke, Glacier, Princeton and finally Penticton.
In 1959 he joined Metropolitan Life moving first to White Rock and later to New Westminster, Victoria and North Vancouver.
Bob retired from Simpson Sears in 1985 to care for his love, Rita who predeceased him in 1986.
His last twenty years have been spent close to family in White Rock.
Our sincere gratitude to the caring staff at George Derby Centre during the final months of Dad's life.
Dad had nine grandchildren and eight great-grandhchildren.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and their children.
Bob remembered all family birthdays for as long as he was able to read Rita's book of important dates.
He was an amazing storyteller remembering the most minute details from his youth in Kenora on the Lake especially those stories of his boyhood gang including loyal friend, Harry Fields.
Bob goes happily to meet again with Rita.
They will, as always, dance a heavenly dance.
Say Hi to Mom, Dad.
Donations on Bob's behalf to the George Derby Centre, 7550 Cumberland, Burnaby, BC, V3N 3X5 would be gratefully accepted.
