MURPHY, Robert James (Bob);
Bob passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 7, 2011 in his 79th year. He is predeceased by daughter Jacky Murphy. Survived by his wife Alba, sons; Len (Wendy), Rob, Mike, John (Jodie), stepson; Carl (Shannon), daughters; Wenda (Ron), Theresa (Bryan). Mother of his children Joan. Grandchildren; Robert, Blake, Nicole, Shandy, Brandon, Stephan, Ashley, Brianne, Cade, Colin, Grace & Taylor & great granddaughter; Riley. Brothers; John, Tom (Paulette), Denis (Lana) & sister; Shirley (George), numerous nieces, nephews & friends. Bob worked in construction all his life and was known for his strong work ethic. He enjoyed working right up until the time of his death. It was common to see Bob in his community, working in his restored Mack dump truck. He was a proud member of the Cloverdale Masonic Lodge #168. He was a lover of horses at one time owning & racing thoroughbreds and more recently supporting his granddaughters in their pony club. He was proud of his Irish heritage, and in keeping with that known for his wry wit and quick smile. He could be best described as the "Salt of the Earth". He is very much missed. Prayers will be offered on Thursday, February 10, 2011 (please call funeral home for time & place). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11:00 am. from Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1153 Fir Street, White Rock, B. C.
