HARRISON, Robin

Robin "Poppa" (Robert Lawrence) Harrison, born August 27, 1928 in Cranbrook, B.C., died at home in the loving embrace of his family on June 18, 2016. He was the youngest son of Charles and Violet Harrison, and brother to Buzz (Bernard) and Charlie, all previously deceased.

Maureen was the love of Robin's life. They were married for 57 years. She was devoted to him and nursed him to his end. He will live on in the memories of his children, John, Sybil, Susan and Sarah; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, John, Emily and Laura; and those with whom his loved ones shared their lives; Yvonne, Larry, Don, Roux, Leo, Marshall, Clark, Lindsey and Randy. He was important in the lives of his nephew, George; Bobbie, George's wife; and their children, Katie, Mary-Beth and Bruce, and their families. He was loved from afar by his extended family in England, including brother- and sister-in-law Ray and Joyce Drury. Luca was a loyal companion in the last years of his life.

Robin was a gifted storyteller and talented artist. He was a voracious reader, a careful observer of life, and insatiably curious. Robin was proud of his working roots in the mines and his 20-year career with the City of Surrey. Robin's philosophy in life was simple and came down to "the four F's": faith, family, friends and fun.

Robin received excellent care and his family wishes to thank his team of nurses; his physicians, Dr. Brian McCombie, Dr. Vickie Bernstein, Dr. Mark Turner and Dr. Valerie Raffle; and his wide circle of friends who provided love, care and support.

Funeral Mass at the Star of Sea Church (1153 Fir St. White Rock) June 25 at 11 am. A Celebration of Life reception will follow. Rather than flowers, please consider a gift in Robin's memory to the White Rock - South Surrey Hospice.
