BISHOP; Roy Alfred
After a six-year battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and outliving every doctor's prognosis, Dad passed away peacefully in his 90th year, in the early afternoon of Sunday, 24 April 2016. Roy made his career in real estate and property development and was past president and a long-serving Governor of the BC Society of Notaries Public. He was very involved in the BC Shriners' charitable fundraising and was in his 60th year as a Mason at St. James Lodge. He was also active with the Peace Arch Shrine Club, Probus Club, Nico Wynd Men's Golf, White Rock Tennis Club, several duplicate bridge clubs and the Newcomers’ Club.
Roy is survived by his wife Betty; by Jean, first wife and mother of his children: Robert (Jennifer), Douglas, Bill (Karin) and Jeanette; and grandchildren Katherine, Natalie, Andrew, Lindley and Christopher. Celebration of Life will be held on June 16, 2016 from 2pm to 5pm at Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club 1284 184 St, Surrey, BC V3S 9R9
