Our beloved Ruth Allard (Robertson) passed away on February 9, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in 1933, Regina, Saskatchewan, she grew up with her two brothers, Norman and Robert Robertson, and a sister Verna Birdsall (nee Robertson).

Ruth and her family moved to B.C. in the early '50s, and eventually opened a charming little restaurant. She worked in real estate and law, then moved on to a casino, where she finished her career years.

Always an active member of the communities she called home, Ruth enriched the fabric of her surroundings serving as a member of the board of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in North Vancouver as Madam President and President from 2003-2004 at The Elks White Rock, ultimately becoming the Exalted Ruler of the Elks. Most recently was instrumental in White Rock's inaugural Pride celebration.

She loved to sing and dance, and travelled around the Lower Mainland with her line dancing group, The Cheyenne Dancers. She lived younger than her years and bolder than expectations.

Ruth is survived by her grateful and loving family, as well as an infinite number of friends. She loved people, music, dancing and found joy in the little things. Always up for a good time, she truly lived life to the fullest.

A Celebration of Life honoring Ruth will be held on March 23rd 2019 at the Elks Hall in White Rock. The ceremony starts at 1:30 pm, White Rock Elks 1469 George Street.
