PAHL; Viola Alice

September 13, 1925 - May 16, 2016

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Viola Alice Pahl of Surrey, BC on May 16, 2016 at the age of 90. Born in Winnipeg in 1925, Viola grew up in Vancouver. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Fred, whom she married on May 4th, 1946. Together with Fred, they served as pastor and wife at NAB churches in Alberta and Saskatchewan, as interim pastor on Vancouver Island, and as chaplain at Evergreen Baptist Care home. She is survived by her son, Gerhart, (Penny), her daughter, Susan, her grandchildren: Christopher (Nena), Wesley, Lionel, Neil (Kamy), and her great grandson, Elliot. Although Viola struggled with many health issues, from polio to cancer, she remained positive and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She said she refused to be unhappy. She authored 8 books and found great joy in playing her Hawaiian steel guitar. Viola will be greatly missed by her friends and family, but we take joy in knowing that she has been released from her crippled body and is rejoicing with her Lord and Saviour.
