Another Scottish soldier has been called home to the green and purple heather covered glens of home.

William Storrier ( Bill) was born on March 2,1922 in Dundee, Scotland and passed away on January 30, 2017 at the age of 94 in Quesnel BC with his family by his side.

Billy as he was often called as a boy, had a wonderful carefree childhood. Born in the firehall in Dundee He spent almost every summer with his brother David and his cousins at Rosemount farm in the Scottish country side. He had many fond memories of those times which laid the foundations for an excellent work ethic and a love of the open countryside.

Bill served in the British Army in the Royal Electricians and Mechanical Engineers in the 31st Armoured Brigade, Special Unit, under the 79th Armoured Division, seeing service in North Africa, Holland and France. He served his country with a sense of duty and pride. It was in an army canteen that he meet the love of his life Edith . Married in 1943 Edith and Bill enjoyed 56 wonderful years of happy marriage until her untimely death in 1999.

After the War in 1948 Bill and Edith made the momentous decision to immigrate to Canada with their 3 year old son Brian. They settled in Alberta where Elizabeth, Linda and David were eventually born. They moved to BC finally settling in White Rock where Baby Jean was welcomed into the family.

White Rock was home for decades where many friendships were forged. Bill was a well known mechanic working for Clifford Feedham, his own business and finally the City of White Rock. Bill and Edith enjoyed retirement in Penticton, but Bill always had a special place for White Rock in his heart.

Bill was predeceased by his Brother David, his loving wife Edith and his oldest son Brian. He is survived by his loving children Elizabeth (Doug), Linda ( John), David (Meredith), Jean (Freddy-boy), Daughter in law Evelyn (Tony) all of his wonderful grandchildren Michael, Lee, Leeanna,Roberta, Ceilidh, Sierra, David, Kevin, Lesli, William, Dylan and Devon, 17 great grandchildren, 1 Great great Grandchild and a few on the way.

Our Dad was the most upstanding, honest and generous person. He loved all of his family unconditionally and opened his home to many. He always had a soft spot for animals especially dogs. Dad never complained about going to work or providing for his family. He was an excellent role model and a mentor to many always helping anyone who needed a hand. He always lead by a positive example. He left this world the same way he lived his life, as a Gentleman.

Special thanks to the staff at Dunrovin Lodge Quesnel for their love and excellent care of Dad the past 5 years.
