JESSEE, Wilse Eugene

August 8, 1920 - December 3, 2016

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of a great husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Wilse was born in Calgary, AB, and passed away in White Rock, BC at the age of 96. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 40 years, Muriel, in 1986. Dad will be missed by his children; Wayne (Donna), Lyn, Glee Ann (Albert) and Kim (Frank), grandchildren Mark (Patti), Elizabeth (Jason), Karen (Kelley), Christy (Bill), Robin (Sylvie), David (Valeska), Christopher (Emilie), Steven, Amy, and great grandchildren Cole, Muriel, Eloise, Ryerson, Micah, Maxim, Alexa, Aaron, Noam and Akian. Wilse is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 25 years, her daughter Cathy (Ed), grandchildren Christine (John), Andrew (Faye), and great grandchildren Will, Jack, Maya and Ian. Also survived by brother Fred (May) and sister Glee. Wilse served in WWII, joining the RCAF in 1941 as a radar mechanic, serving in Canada and Great Britain, and was discharged in 1946 as Flight Lieutenant. In 1949, he joined TCA (Air Canada) as Station Attendant, and then worked as Passenger Agent, Personnel Manager and Project Manager, based in Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal. Upon retirement in 1983, Wilse and Muriel moved to White Rock, BC. Wilse was active for many years in the Lower Mainland Yacht Cooperative, serving two years as Commodore and 12 years as Chairman of the White Rock Harbour Board. He also spent 25 years in the Pionairs (Air Canada retirees), two years as President, and got much enjoyment from sailing from the White Rock pier, reading (favourite author Dick Francis), traveling, daily walks ("Crescent Beach on a good day"), family visits and frequent games of contract and duplicate bridge. Our Dad was one of a kind and so loved by his family. Our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Westminster House. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in White Rock. If so desired, donations can be made to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation or the Calgary Veteran's Food Bank.
