I want to give a huge high five to the City of White Rock horticulturalist, Alecia Otto, and her crew for bringing back to life our beautiful garden beds in the city.
Driving along Johnston Road on a dreary June day and to be greeted by the amazing display of tulips was such a delight. Now there are other colourful displays to take their place.
The mixtures and designs are just a sight to behold and so appreciated.
The past few years, there seemed to be some neglect and it makes me so happy to see the beauty restored.
It is very reminiscent of the previous city horticulturist, the late Mervin Hart. I am sure he is smiling down on you, Ms. Otto! He was an absolute artist and you are definitely following in his footsteps.
I’m sure there have been thousands of picture postcards sent all over the world showing our beautiful flowers that helped put White Rock on the map.
Keep up the good work, and thank you and your hard-working worker bees.
