• The Kent Street Activity Centre has partnered with the Semiahmoo Arts Society to offer two fun workshop this spring. On May 27, 10 a.m. to noon, tap into your creativity exploring a new art medium each week. All art supplies are included, and funding assistance is provided by the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation Healthy Community Grant. On Saturday June 8, bring your grandkids and create and explore art together in a fun morning workshop. All supplies included. • Every second and fourth Saturday of the month seniors can drop into the Kent Street Activity Centre from 10 a.m. to noon to meet with a senior connector. Brella Community Services Society will have a volunteer available to help with a variety of topics including subsidized housing support, information on pensions, MSP applications, residential tenancy information, community resources and more. No appointment is needed. The next senior connector will be at the centre on Saturday, April 13.
• The Kent Street Activity Centre Snooker Club welcomes new members to drop in and join their friendly group. Enjoy unlimited playing time six days a week on four available tables during regular business hours of the centre. • Tickets are on sale now for lucky ladies – two short comedies directed by Rita Humphreys and presented by the Kent Street Players. Choose one of two performance dates, Sunday June 2 or Saturday June 8 at 2 p.m. at the Kent Street Activity Centre. Admission is only $10 and includes light refreshments. • Kent Street Activity Centre Thursday Cards is adding something new to their afternoon play. SKIP-BO, rummy and other fun card games will now be available. Drop in next Thursday, 1-3:15 p.m. to join in on these fun games as well as cribbage and canasta. Remember you can try out this activity group three times before purchasing membership.
