I am one of the producers of Border Security: Canada’s Front Line.
Your reporter has made factual errors in this article that could easily have been corrected if she had bothered to talk to us. She did not request an interview and appears not to have bothered checking her facts in any other way.
She is repeating false information that has already been discredited.
The article says we filmed “despite privacy objections… a raid by Canadian agents in which migrant workers were arrested and some later deported.”
There were no privacy objections at the time of filming in the incident your reporter refers to.
Our very strict privacy procedures were followed and all the men filmed consented to being filmed. However, none of those men have ever been publicized or identified in any way by us.
And none of the men filmed were “migrant workers.” Migrant workers arrive in Canada legally and have work permits.
The men who were arrested were all allegedly in the country illegally, and allegedly working illegally. Most have since been deported.
