Premier David Eby states that one of his key priorities is public safety.

Why is the Minister of Public Safety, MLA Mike Farnworth, allowed to put the safety of Surrey residents at risk while he delays his decision on who will police Surrey, RCMP or SPS (Surrey Police Service)?

Farnworth is holding Surrey residents/taxpayers hostage.

The elected mayor of Surrey, Brenda Locke, cannot even put forth the 2023 budget to determine what our municipal taxes will be going forward.

Please accept the responsibility of making a decision. Use the grey matter between your ears.

You do not live in Surrey and do not understand how critical it is for you to do your job as safety minister.

I have lived in Surrey for more than 40 years and am concerned about safety and security.

As a resident, taxpayer and voter, I want you to know that your indecision will haunt you.

Laurie Haliburton, Surrey
