Please be aware that there are many thieves around White Rock and South Surrey.
Do not leave your bike unattended, even with good-quality locks.
I had my bike stolen in South Surrey on Monday, April 2. It was a Kona hybrid Splice Deluxe. My bike had two large royal-blue panniers, a Cannondale helmet and a pair of prescription glasses that were also stolen.
My husband’s bike and mine were secured with two heavy locks at a bike rack in Grandview Corners. Home Depot has a bike rack located right in front of their main door, and what appears to be a security closed-circuit camera that overlooks the bike rack and their numerous wheelbarrows. We were in the store for less than 40 minutes.
To this day, despite many phone calls to find out if CCTV recorded the theft, I have not received a response. I’m very disappointed. The least they could do is have someone call me to let me know whether someone was seen on their security camera.
Please everyone, be aware of these bicycle thieves.
