Re: We can’t get fooled again, Nov. 2 letter.
In reading the above letter printed in last week’s paper, I couldn’t agree more with Jef Keighley.
The current Ministry of Children and Family Development has royally messed up, couldn’t work with Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafonde when she did an excellent job as B.C.’s representative for children and youth, but I fear she rocked the boat and tried to change the way things are done in the ministry.
And for Minister Stephanie Cadieux (Surrey-Cloverdale) not to meet with her and work on difficult situations is appalling.
I wrote to her, MP Elizabeth May (Saanich-Gulf Islands) and the department that Turpel-Lafonde worked with in regards to the little Metis girl that was taken out of the only home she knew. I think my letters express how disgusting the whole situation was and still is.
I suspect that whole situation is what was the final straw for Turpel-Lafond. I certainly won’t be voting for Cadieux in the next election!
